Accuracy
Calculations follow published equations and are labelled with their sources, but a disclaimer does not make a wrong number right, and neither does a formula make a measurement. Confirm anything that matters, particularly a final gravity you are about to bottle on, with your own instrument.
Safety is your responsibility
Brewing involves real hazards. Sealed vessels hold pressure and can burst. Bottles can burst. CO2 cylinders are high pressure equipment. Cleaning chemicals burn skin and eyes. Propane burners produce carbon monoxide and must be used outdoors. Boiling wort causes severe burns. Follow the manufacturer instructions for your own equipment, which take precedence over anything written here.
Alcohol and the law
This site covers brewing beer, cider and mead, which is alcohol production. It is written for adults of legal drinking age, 21 and over in the United States. Home brewing law varies by country and by state, and it is your responsibility to know the rules where you live, including any limits on quantity. Distilling is a separate legal matter and is not covered on this site at all.
